The Village Sessions: KO aka Stone Lee Live at Shambhala 2012
Posted by: Scott on November 9, 2012All You Need is Bass and PK Sound are proud to present The Village Sessions. This ongoing podcast will feature the best performances from The Village stage, recorded live at Shambhala 2012.
Session Six features Kung Fu master KO – A.K.A. Stone Lee who comes at you with exploding fists of bass. As said by KO:
“Formerly known as Stone Lee, this 2012 Village Session marks the birth of KO. From the first year I danced my ass off at Shambhala like 9 years ago, I was totally addicted to broken beats… and PK sound. Hearing all those crazy frequencies, and whipping my body parts around uninhibited is what I really loved about Shambs. My dj sets are crafted from the mind of a dancer and I think this gives me a different perspective. I love to take people on a journey and I cover a lot of genres. Spanning d’n’b, glitch, funk, trap, dubstep and everything in between. I love contrast, so you’ll often hear me go from something melodic with a female vocal right into something gangster. Kind of like sipping on some tea then immediately smashing it against your head. And when I play… I have been known to party a little bit. If you were there for my set this year you know what I’m talking about lol. Wowzers!! But underneath the laid back exterior is a true music lover that is all business. My business is bass, and business is a boomin!!
But seriously there is some great music on this mix so check this shit out. You might just get Knocked the fuck out!!”
Special thanks to PK Sound for bringing the bass and stage; Shambhala Music Festival for hosting the party; Head Effect Mobile Recording who recorded and mastered this set; The Village volunteers for making it magical; and everyone who danced their asses off all weekend long. We also want send out an extra special thanks to J.F.Killah and Eradik for recording the intro and outro for our podcast and the talented Novus Photography for the photo.
Stay tuned each week as we release another live set from the Village Stage. Sign up for our newsletter or like our Facebook page for advanced news of what’s coming up next!
