Slow Jam Sundays: Lowlight Mixes: The God Particle
Posted by: Alex on October 14, 2012Living in the Pacific Northwest I have come to recognize that we only have two seasons: Summer and Rain. So, today I am spending this rainy Sunday laying on the couch alternating between watching people run down the street trying to avoid getting soaked and reading about parallel universe theory in Brian Greene’s The Hidden Reality.
Like physics, IDM and Ambient are two of my interests that I love very much, but I don’t often get a chance to share on here. But, with today’s Slow Jam Sunday we are featuring one of my favorite Ambient sites: Lowlight Mixes. Every few weeks, Dave releases a well crafted themed ambient mix. He has been providing the Interwebs with these stunning sets since 2006 and I am elated every time a new one is released. A few months ago, after CERN discovered the Higgs-Boson particle (and didn’t manage to destroy the world [sic]) Lowlight Mixes released The God Particle; a masterful physics themed mix that pays hommage to one of the most important scientific discoveries of our lifetime. So, considering that I am up to my elbows in parallel universe theory, this deeply melodic ambient set acts as a perfect backdrop to unmasking the secrets of the cosmos and seemed fitting to listen to while I read the day away.
If you’re spending your day reading, or just chilling on the couch; turn on this beautiful ambient set that will be sure to delight your auditory senses.
