Shambhala 2013 Lineup Announcement!

We are a nearly 3 months away from making our way back to The Farm to reunite with our chosen families in the best place in the world to listen to killer music, dance, laugh, have fun and recharge ourselves. But, who you ask? Who are going to be the artists who fill our ears with those delicious beats in the beautiful Canadian Kootanies? Well Shambalovlies, the day has finally come! It’s time to start dusting off those dancy pants because the Shambhala 2013 lineup has been announced and we’re in for a hell of a year! The sheer magnitude and scope of the artists this year is enough to get the Shambajuices flowing!

The fine folks over at Shambhala have done a fine job at balancing returning artists like ill.Gates, Excision, Fort Knox 5, Matt the Alien, Subvert, and all of our other favorites while still managing to bring in a massive lineup of exciting artists that we haven’t seen before! We couldn’t be happier that The Ragga Jungle Rinse is opening the Village again this year. Last year’s Rinse Out was arguably one of the best sets at Shambhala, so good in fact Amadeus is coming back to reprise his time slot directly afterwards!

I am beyond excited about how much glitch there is going to be at Shambhala this year. Minnesota, Clicks and Whistles  Opiuo, and the artist I’m probably the most excited to check out this year. UZ! He’s like the MF Doom of trap music! Maybe I’ve wasted my life reading comics, but it has pretty much guaranteed that if you put on a bad ass mask and hide your identity it raises your cool level in my book. It doesn’t hurt that UZ has been producing the most bad ass trap this side of the Mason Dixon Line.

gramatikGrammatik and Gladkill killed it last year on their tour with Bassnectar and it looks like Lorin has been spreading the Shambalove to his tour mates because both of them are going to be kickin’ it at Shambhala this year. Then you have Griz. His Mad Libberation EP has been on heavy rotation in our house since it came out last year and getting to see him on a massive system is going to be rad! If you haven’t had a chance to check it out, it is still available for free on his website.

Kastle is coming back, and Big Gigantic and Paper Diamond are making their first appearance at the festival. These musical geniuses are going to be popular sets this year for sure!

Stanton+Warriors

Stanton Warriors

It’s been a while since I’ve seen the Stanton Warriors, and the Fractal Forest should be the perfect place to get reacquainted with the two guys who taught me about breaks. Their Headz of State EP was the first breaks album I ever purchased and It’ll be awesome to get to hear them again at Shambhala.

As far as beatboxers go, what would be rad, is if next year we could get Beardyman and Reggie Watts! Reggie has been to Burning Man. I don’t think getting him down for Shambhala would be to far of a stretch.

Really, I could go on and on about who we’re excited for but really the whole festival is going to rock so hard, we’re going to need a vacation afterwards!

At the time of this post, there were less than 3000 tickets left. I would be willing to bet my last nickel that those are going to be gone faster than you can say “Hell yes bitches! We be going to Shambhala!”

Who do you think are going to be the dance floor destoyers this year?
