HYHT: DJ Kentaro – Step In feat. Foreign Beggars
Posted by: Alex on July 2, 2012It’s hard not to feel like rock stars after a sleepless 9 hour flight to Tokyo and partying until dawn. But these are the things we do for all of you. I’m not going to lie – until we drank some crazy Japanese energy drinks (that with from what I can gather from the can has the power of 600 clams) I didn’t think we were going to make it through the line up let alone make it to see someone we flew halfway across the globe to check out.
If you haven’t heard of DJ Kentaro yet, he is making a big name for himself on this side of the world. Arguably one of the best turntablist Japan has put out since DJ Krush, his bass heavy style is bringing in massive crowds. Mix that with collaborations on his new EP with people like Kid Koala, MC Zulu and UK Hip-Hop duo Foreign Beggars whose use of a mix of dubstep and glitchy bass heavy tracks to MC over make them a new favorite of mine.
For today’s Have you Heard this we give you a release off DJ Kentaro’s EP Contrast featuring Foreign Beggars.
