Crazy Daylight is an Australian bass producer, making sounds on the glitchier side of the bass music spectrum. Using a vocoder to add a retro pop feel to many of his tracks, Crazy Daylight has a sound that’s truly unique. In a world where many producers are using the same software and have the same idols, this can be difficult to do. Having visited North America this past autumn with fellow Australian bassheads Gruff and Mr. Bill, the trio left a trail of new followers across Canada and America, showing us all that Australia is home to more bass talent than just Opiuo.
Since his Canadian dates, I have been obsessively watching for some more releases from this artist. Last week I finally got my wish, as Crazy Daylight released a new free EP, Lore of the Gods. It’s quite fitting that the EP was inspired by the landscape of beautiful British Columbia. “Those tracks were written on the road during my Canadian/USA tour,” said Crazy Daylight. “I started Lore of the Gods while on a bus from Victoria BC to Kelowna. The epic and etheric elements were inspired by the enormous snow capped mountains surrounding me.”
